AC Milan beat reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid

ROME - In a stunning victory on Tuesday, AC Milan got the better of Real Madrid by three goals to one at the Bernabeu.
AC Milan’s assault on the reigning champions began in the 11th minute thanks to a bullet header from centre-back Malick Thiaw. However, Real Madrid were quick to level the match. A brash challenge by Emerson Royal on Vinicius Jr in the AC Milan was penalised appropriately. On his run up to the penalty kick, Vinicius Jr won his mind games, waiting for the goalkeeper to dive to the right before gently chipping the ball down the centre of the goal.
The score did not remain level for long. AC Milan scored again in the 38th minute as Alvaro Morata found himself in the right place at the right time, after a save from Real Madrid’s keeper left the ball at his feet, which he dispatched into the back of the net.
AC Milan’s final goal to complete their stunning victory was scored by Dutch star Tijjani Reijnders. Following a cross into the box, Reijnders found himself completely unmarked and smashed the ball past the keeper.
Elsewhere, the Italian teams did not fare as well. Juventus drew 1-1 with LOSC, and Bologna lost 1-0 to Monaco.
This means at the end of match week four, Inter Milan lead the Italian teams in the new Champions league table in eighth, Juventus stand in tenth, despite their win AC Milan are 18th, and Bologna sit only six places off the bottom in 30th.
With the Champions League season still young, it still remains all to play for.
